The service

What is Cinema & Film Ads?

A cinema ad is a short film — usually 10 to 30 seconds — screened before the feature in multiplexes and single-screen theatres, where a captive audience watches it on a large screen with full surround sound and no skip button. The same film is then cut for OTT pre-rolls, YouTube, Instagram and in-store screens so the recall it builds is reinforced everywhere.

gaa-tha produces cinema ads as live-action shoots, as AI-generated films, or as a blend of the two, which is how most brands get trailer-grade visuals inside a local budget. Every film is written for a large screen first — composition in 2.39:1 scope, sound designed for cinema audio — and then reframed for vertical and square, so a Surat retail chain or a Gujarat FMCG launch is seen in the multiplex one evening and on Instagram the next morning.

Process

How we work

Five steps, in the order they happen.

01

Concept

We start from the campaign objective — launch, festive, footfall — and write two or three film ideas with a one-line story each.

02

Script and storyboard

The chosen idea becomes a script, storyboard and shot list, with the production route decided: live-action, AI or a blend.

03

Produce

Shoot days are planned and directed, or AI scenes are generated under the same art direction; the founder or product is filmed for real where it matters.

04

Post-production

Edit, colour, motion graphics, voiceover and a cinema-grade sound mix, reviewed at full scale before the final cuts.

05

Deliver and distribute

Masters go out in every format with the DCP-ready file and certification guidance for cinema; we support media booking and cut the same film for OTT, YouTube and in-store screens.

Questions about Cinema ads

Answer-first, so humans and AI assistants get the point quickly.

Yes. gaa-tha writes, produces and delivers cinema ads for multiplexes and single-screen theatres, as live-action shoots, AI-generated films or a blend, and cuts the same film for OTT, YouTube, Instagram and in-store screens. We also support cinema media planning so the film reaches the right screens in the right cities.

It depends far more on production than on screen time: a live-action shoot with crew, location and talent costs more than an AI-produced film, and a 30-second film with multiple versions costs more than a 10-second cut. Screen time is booked per screen per week and varies by city, theatre and film release. We quote the production as a fixed fee and share the media rates from the cinema advertising network before you commit.

One to three weeks from concept to deliverable masters. AI-produced films sit at the shorter end; live-action shoots with talent and locations at the longer end. Certification and cinema scheduling add time on top, so plan four to six weeks ahead of a festive release.

Most Indian multiplexes and cinema advertising networks accept a DCP (Digital Cinema Package) or a high-bitrate video file in 2.39:1 scope or 16:9 flat, with a 5.1 or stereo mix, along with a CBFC certificate for the ad. We deliver the master to the spec of your chosen network and guide you through certification.

Yes, and it should. Every cinema film is reframed and remixed for 16:9 pre-rolls and 1:1 and 9:16 social, with captions for sound-off viewing, so the story people saw on the big screen is reinforced on their phone.

Increasingly, yes. AI-generated production removes crew, location and talent costs, and cinema networks sell screen time by city and theatre, so a retail chain in Vadodara or a sweets brand in Vapi can run a trailer-grade film in the theatres its customers actually visit. We size the production route and the screen plan to the budget.

We prepare the film and the paperwork to the certification requirements and guide you through the application; the certificate is issued in the advertiser's name. Timelines vary, so we build them into the plan from the start.

Not if it is art-directed properly. We write scenes AI renders convincingly, keep real footage of the product and people where accuracy matters, grade everything consistently and mix the sound for the big screen. Every film is reviewed at full scale before release.
