The service

What is Blinkit Seller Onboarding?

Blinkit seller onboarding is the process of getting a brand approved, listed and stocked on Blinkit, the 10-minute delivery platform owned by Eternal (formerly Zomato). It covers business and brand documentation, category and licence checks, commercial terms, catalogue creation to Blinkit's image and attribute standards, and the first purchase order that puts stock into Blinkit's dark stores. Blinkit is inventory-led for most brands, so onboarding is as much a supply arrangement as a listing.

gaa-tha runs the whole sequence for you. We prepare the document pack, present the range and pack sizes in the way Blinkit's category team expects, build the catalogue and thumbnails, map which cities and dark stores to stock first, and stay on the application until the first PO is raised and received. Blinkit's strongest markets are Delhi NCR, Mumbai, Bengaluru, Hyderabad, Pune and Kolkata, with a growing tier-2 footprint, so we plan the launch cities from where your category already sells.

Process

How we work

Five steps, in the order they happen.

01

Eligibility and economics

We check your category, licences, shelf life and pack sizes against Blinkit's requirements and model the margin per SKU before applying.

02

Documents and registration

The document pack is assembled and verified, the seller and brand registration submitted, and every query from Blinkit's team answered by us.

03

Catalogue and content

Titles, thumbnails, secondary images and attributes are built to Blinkit's specifications so listings pass QC the first time.

04

Cities, stores and first PO

Launch cities and dark stores are agreed, the first purchase order is raised and we coordinate packaging, labelling and dispatch to Blinkit's warehouse.

05

Go-live and handover

Listings are checked live in every launch city, availability is verified, and the account moves into monthly management or your own team's hands.

Questions about Blinkit onboarding

Answer-first, so humans and AI assistants get the point quickly.

Typically GST registration, PAN, a cancelled cheque or bank proof, brand ownership proof such as a trademark certificate or a brand authorisation letter, FSSAI licence for food and beverages, and any other category licence such as cosmetics or drug licences where relevant. Blinkit may also ask for product data, MRP labels and pack images. Requirements change, so we share a current checklist before you apply.

Usually 3–6 weeks from a complete document pack to the first purchase order. Registration and category approval take the first one to two weeks, catalogue build and QC another one to two, and the first PO and dispatch the rest. Missing licences or incomplete product data are the most common causes of delay.

Blinkit works on margins and may charge listing, onboarding or marketing contributions that vary by category and change over time. We do not quote fixed figures because they differ brand to brand; we obtain the current structure for your category and walk you through it before you commit.

Grocery and staples, snacks and beverages, dairy and fresh, personal care and beauty, baby and pet care, home and kitchen, health and wellness, stationery, electronics accessories and seasonal or festive ranges. Each category has its own licence and shelf-life requirements, and some are invite-only or capacity-limited by city.

Blinkit raises purchase orders, receives stock at its warehouses and distributes it to dark stores across a city, so every store carries only a curated range. A brand needs to be reliable on supply and packaging, and to earn its place on the shelf with sell-through. We plan quantities city by city so the first PO is realistic.

Start where your brand already has distribution and demand — often Delhi NCR, Mumbai, Bengaluru, Hyderabad or Pune — and add cities as sell-through proves the range. Launching everywhere at once spreads stock thin and creates availability gaps that hurt ranking.

We verify every listing is live and searchable in each launch city, check pricing, thumbnails and pack-size titles, confirm stock is showing as available in the dark stores that received it, and set up the availability tracker. Then the account moves to monthly management or to your own team with an SOP.

If your priority cities are Delhi NCR and the north, Blinkit usually comes first; if Mumbai, Bengaluru or Hyderabad, Zepto is a close call. Many brands onboard both within the same quarter. We compare category demand in your cities before recommending, and the document pack for one is largely reusable for the other.
